Playing dress-up is just one of those quintessential “kid” activities that stands the test of time. No matter your child’s gender, chances are that they’ll enjoy donning some strange duds and pretending to be someone else, whether it’s throwing on a sheet cape to be a superhero, a frilly gown to be a princess, or a bright, pointed hat to be a Crayola crayon. (I can’t be the only one who did that, right?) Even today, when there are a million devices, shows, and other stimuli all vying for these little ones’ attention, the business of make-believe persists.

Of course, most kids don’t get the chance to elevate their costume play to the level that 3-year-old Ella and 5-year-old Sullivan did. The duo recently participated in a fabulously adorable wedding photoshoot. Yep, you read that right.

Ella’s mom, professional photographer Breana Marie, noticed how much her daughter loved playing dress-up. Remembering how much she’d also loved it as a child — particularly getting dressed up in white and pretending to be married — she had a wacky idea. She got together with friend and fellow photographer Bria Nicole, who is Sullivan’s mom, and staged this beautiful wedding photoshoot for the kids.

“So as a kid, one of my favorite things was to play dress-up,” Breana Marie wrote on her blog. “I specially liked anything that was white because I pretended to be getting married. Well low and behold I am grown and married with a gorgeous daughter. She loves playing dress-up and has a wild spirit. My friend who also is a photographer has an adorable son who is Ella’s friend Sullivan, and we had this wild idea. We wanted to host a mini wedding and of course we went all out. We let these two play real-life wedding, and I think they had more fun than their mammas did. Oh to be young again.”

When she says they “went all out,” she is not kidding. From Ella’s lacy, white dress and tiara to Sullivan’s fitted suit and boutonniere, these kids are dressed to the nines. There’s even a ring, a cake, and a ceremonial archway! Millennials everywhere are going to experience full-blown FOMO after looking at these pictures.

While this seems harmless enough, the internet is doing what the internet does best: trolling the photographers and offering unsolicited parenting advice. (Since the photos have gone viral, Breana Marie is catching a lot of hate online.)

The moms took care of logistics, but she said that Ella and Sullivan really did have the wedding photoshoot of their dreams (OK, ours too), taking charge and improvising all day.

“We told them they were getting married and found a little baby-sized ring box. I told her she got to dress like a princess for her wedding,” Breana Marie told ABC News. “I braided her hair and then they saw each other and they said, ‘We’re getting married today!’ They did pretty much everything themselves, then they’d look at each other and they would giggle.”

That shot of Sullivan down on one knee? All his idea.

“He asked, ‘Can I propose to her?’” Breana Marie told ABC. “Ella started giggling so hard. He put it on her pointer finger.”
